which gets my mind a churning
hatred, scorn war and pain
in these where is there gain
forgiveness is the way to live
why can't we just love and give

as lepers of emotion
how do we put love in motion
it is written, "Jesus wept"
why can't we reach this depth

if aiming for perfection
means killing my reflection
then death to me
